Building a SaaS: code and infrastructure are two equally hard battles

𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 🚀
When I started 𝗟𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 I thought the challenge ended with writing a good backend. Spoiler: it was barely half. 😅
A real 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗦 demands two equally hard battles — solid code 𝗮𝗻𝗱 an infrastructure that sustains it. These are the tips I'd give my early self today 👇
💻 𝟭. 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗹𝘂𝘅𝘂𝗿𝘆, 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹.
Every shortcut you take today you pay back with interest in 3 months. A well-thought-out backend is what lets you 𝗮𝗱𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿 of breaking everything.
🔥 𝟮. 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘀.
The first manual deploy is fine. The tenth steals your night. A simple pipeline from day 1 gives you back hours of your life.
💪 𝟯. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸.
Backups, logs and monitoring are not "for later". The day it goes down in production, you either have them or you learn the hard way.
The big lesson: 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 and 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 don't compete, they hold each other up. A SaaS that survives is the one that masters 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀. 🔥
